Poi Beginners - 8 Week Course - Dundee
After a successful 9 years down south Poi Passion beginners has finally arrived in Scotland! Join us in our first year and learn this new dance form with our qualified teachers. Poi is steadily becoming more and more popular and is known as a good way to exercise as well as enhancing your concentration and ability to co-ordinate which can take you into, what we call, "the zone".
At first poi can be a little frustrating to learn ... not knowing what you are doing with your hands. Poi may look easy ... but you will soon discover that this is a complicated art form which will challenge your whole mind and body. Learning poi can even take you through different emotions: laughter, pain, happiness, disappointment etc ...

... we want to help you through the basic moves, breaking each down so you have a good understanding of what both hands are doing whilst getting to know your poi.
Poi Passion offers you the thorough way to learn basic pi spinning alongside our qualified teachers - who will make your eight weeks of spinning fun and easy to understand.
Over the eight weeks we will cover a number of moves ... gradually linking them together. You will be assigned homework - as you cannot learn poi in eight hours - so you will need to make time to practice. The course will prove to be eight weeks of hard work and discipline, but students will become Graduate Poi Spinners by the end. You will then meet other poi spinners and get invited to poi events in the UK!

- Butterfly forward / backward
- Split poi movements
- Angel and Bird - forward and backward
- Crossing and Slamming forward / backward
- Weave forward / backward
- Corkscrew forward / backward
- Helicopter forward / backward
- Giant Windmills forward / backward
- Wall Plan turns
- Putting moves together

£75.00 workers
£65.00 students, benefits & under 18 years of age
£130.00 parents and child price
Once you have completed the Beginners Course you can pay £40 if you would like to repeat and practice what you have learnt.
